Support & corrections

Found a wrong record? Tell us.

The ownership database is hand-curated from public sources — SEC filings, press releases, Bloomberg, Variety, Tubefilter, Kidscreen. Sources go stale. Deals get amended. If a channel shows the wrong label, please help us fix it.

Report a data issue

The fastest way: use the uninstall / feedback form, which accepts corrections even if you haven't uninstalled.

What to include

Frequently asked

The banner isn't showing on a channel I know is owned.

We only list channels where a credible public source has confirmed the deal. If you have a source, send it via the form above and we'll add it.

The extension is disabled — how do I re-enable it?

Click the toolbar icon. The popup has a toggle in the top-right that controls whether the banner shows.

How often does the database update?

The extension checks for a fresh dataset every 6 hours in the background. You can force a refresh anytime from the popup. The bundled copy in the extension is the fallback if the network check fails.

Is the extension open source?

The database is public at channels.ytownerlens.workers.dev. The extension source is available on request — send a note via the form if you'd like a copy.

Can I contribute new channels?

Yes. Send the channel info and a public source via the form. We batch updates roughly weekly.

What's your relationship to YouTube?

None. Ownership Lens is an independent transparency project. We don't share data with YouTube, don't receive anything from them, and aren't endorsed by them.
