A transparency layer for YouTube

Know who really owns your favorite YouTubers.

Private equity firms, hedge funds, and media conglomerates have quietly acquired hundreds of channels. Ownership Lens surfaces that ownership right below the video you're watching, color-coded from independent (green) to fully corporate-owned (red). Free, open, no tracking.

What it does

When you land on a YouTube watch page, the extension reads the uploading channel's name and handle, matches it against a public database of verified ownership records, and shows a small banner below the video with the result. That's it.

Independent

Founder- or creator-owned. No private-equity stake, no catalog-licensing deal, no media parent. Shown in green.

Corporate / PE owned

Fully acquired, majority equity, or rolled up under a media company. Shown in red / orange depending on the deal type.
